Technology and Educators

Last term I presented at my school’s conference. We are part of a nine school academy chain so I was fortunate to be able to present to primary and secondary teachers about the role technology could play in our roles as educators.

My focus was on
1. 21st Century Learning skills, what are they and can we help the students develop them
2. What technology has made possible already
3. What will the role of technology be in education over the coming decades

I believe if teachers grasp an understanding of social media and collaboration via the web then we can be useful guides for our students in how to make the most of the technology around them. There are also some amazing opportunities to connect with inspiring people and inspire our students thanks to new technology such as connected classrooms or skype.

Here is my presentation and the accompanying booklet

Be interested to know if anyone has any feedback or questions.
